2011 is going to be a great year!

Sorry guys, you know what it's like when you start a new job.  Processes, processes and processes.  Who said this staff thing was fun.  Buck has been a little aggressive and thank goodness mating season is over! But it hasn't improved his attitude, he still likes to flex his muscles a little, picking fights when he thinks no-one is watching.  The next performance review is not going to be pretty.

Unbeknown to him, some tourists caught him on video recently.  It looks like its back to anger management classes and some coaching on his behaviour.  Christmas was lovely and the animals and I had lunch together, there was Buck, Joey, Junior, Kooka and me.

Wish me luck, we are in the high tourist season at the moment so will post when I can to keep you all up-to-date. Just so you don't think I am telling you porkies - here is Buck in action down at the local hang at Little Bay.

Stay Tune and will speak to you soon.

Tch Tch Tch, Growl - Love is in the Air

Well, second week on the job and I am not sure whether I really want to be a Boss.  This employee stuff is really a right pain in the tail.  This week I met up with Buck - well what an attitude he has.  He thinks he is king of the Park.  Buck is a big strapping lad, who fancies himself as a bit of a ladies man and is very protective of his woman and little joey.  He told me in no uncertain terms to back off as I got a little too close on his territory.  You will often find him under the cabins during the day away from the Sun and then they hang out at Little Bay with the rest of the mob.

If you've ever seen the TV show "Skippy" you may have heard Skippy going "tch tch tch". I have never heard a kangaroo make that sound. A male will cluck at a female to reassure her when he's trying to mate with her and kangaroos of either gender will growl preparatory to fighting.
Well all those sounds were happening in the park this week - I think love is in the air, so when you hear those noises it is important to keep your distance.  Whilst the Kangaroo looks cute they are a very powerful animal.

Well settle on back and enjoy my video's.  Some are very short and still a little wobbly.  Have a great week and we chat next week.

Shhh Can you Keep a Secret!

Shhhhh can you keep a secret.  I am supposed to be working but have snuck away to keep you up-to-date with what is going on in with the animals at Trial Bay Eco Tourist Park.

Hi, my name is Rocky and I am the head of the Wildlife Division at Trial Bay Eco Tourist Park, South West Rocks.  I reckon I must have the best job ever!

I get to hang out with tourists and my wildlife family all day long.  This got me to thinking, how cool would it be to show you what the wildlife get up to throughout the day.  So, I thought I would pre-warned the wildlife that I was coming down to film what they do, and would you believe it, they went camera shy on me and went underground.  Well, two can play that game -  so now it's undercover Kanga Boss.

Firstly, let me introduce Kooka, look how cheeky he is.  He thinks he can have a bath in the toddler pool during work time... hmmmm.

I finally caught up with Dot, junior and joey.   Junior was just lazing around like he always does - not a care in the world.  Joey was a little shy, but then soon warmed up with a smile for the camera.  Dot was more interested in eating so she didn't even notice I was there.

So settle on back and enjoy my first filming adventures. Sorry for the shakey filming, it was a bit hard to hide between those trees to make sure I wasn't uncovered by my employees!   Stay tuned for my blog each week where i will up-date you on what has been going on..........
